Updates and Suggestions

Hi everyone!

Cookie here to update yall on moi. Mostly I've been really focusing on getting my collection in order, figuring out who fits and who doesn't. I'm pretty sure I'm down to the final leg here before I complete my collection. One of my girls is off at the Spa getting her face down, another is on her way, and the rest are at home and relaxing.

I can admit there is one I want badly but good things come to those who wait... or whatever. Not sure how much stock that statement really has anymore given the economy, my general poorness, and hating my job and 18cent raise this year. So anyone who thinks doll owners are rich? I make 10 bucks an hour and just got an 18 cent raise after TWO years of merit freezes. woo.

Let's go over some points I made in my last entry. I wanted to improve my photography? Check. I wanted to get a new lens? Check. Also took it a step further and got a studio kit. Came with lights, backgrounds, invested in some x-mas lights (cannot WAIT for this season so I can get more for themed shoots ie. halloween, christmas, thanksgiving), and got ANOTHER grail doll. I have 4 of 5 grail dolls at the moment and hoping I get the 5th at the end of this month for my birthday. <3

I guess I can reveal the doll on her way finally... a Minifee Celine! She will come with everything, box, papers, etc. and a Nomyens faceup! *screams*

I also said I was gonna do a featured thing, I will post that at the end of my blog. But first I need some help. I need to know how to make a page... that connects to my blog for JUST my dolls, their info, etc? So if anyone can help me out I would appreciate it. <3

A Wild Post Appears!

Another medium in which to post my dolls? Sure, I said.
Another place to be ignored? Why not, I said.
Another place I will spend money because I have it? Meh... not really but why not. heh

So hello all, Cookie here to introduce myself and eventually my girls.  Gotta really get everything together, uniform, and more together before I really start diving into it all. I'd like my tumblr, blog, and DA to all be consistent. So it's recognizably me. Not just to you guys but to me. OCD is a bitch. But I'm really glad to have help with it from someone I look up to in the community. <3

Umm a little about me. Been in the hobby for 3 years this year. Started with a Supia Hael and have progressed from there. My tastes have changed drastically from realistic BJDs to lovely and cute girls over time. I saw girls because I've tried to bond with boys but just can't. My of my collection now is Luts and Fairyland, CP really knows how to sculpt them. <3 I am an open book, just ask me anything I have no problem answering.

I'd like to talk about here plans for the blog, for me... I'll use neat little bulletin points to keep track and not run over myself.

• Blog
• A FAQ. Mostly because I'm sure that's pretty standard in this hobby. More often than not you have newer people asking questions, looking for help or advice. I know how it is newbies, we were all there once upon a time.
• Character profiles. I want you to know them like I do. I want to round them out, give them personalities beyond the photo. I like pouring my creativity into things.
• Links Out Page. For my favorite shops, stores, companies. Anything and everything. Also to my friends in the hobby. When I make some that is lol
• Featured Page- maybe each few weeks I'll feature an artist whom I think is exceptional, could be for photography, face ups, tattoos, or even sketches\portraits of BJDs or their characters.
• Commission page- if I ever learn how to do something commissionable in the hobby. I'm thinking sewing. but probably nothing. Gaming takes up a gross amount of my time lol
• Me
• Photography. Learning better angles, framing, how to work the camera, etc.
• Equipment Upgrade. Buy a Canon 50mm lens.
• Photoshop. Learn some editing\design tricks. There are a ton of tutorials out there I just haven't taken the time.
• Caution. Know that these dolls are pretty heavy duty, I won't break them each time I pick one up despite how clumsy I am. I still make my sister do a lot of the work for me. //hangs head
• Patience and dedication. I need to learn to calm myself and focus. I get really frustrated when a doll gets kicky or won't stand etc. with ease and stop what I'm doing. A lot of photo-shoots have ended before they even began because of this.
• MAKE FRIENDS. I'm pretty antisocial... so I find it hard to really talk to people even online. I pretty much figure no one will like me before we even chat. It's really self-defeating, I know.

I find that when I have a list I tend to stick to it a bit better. I'm from a list type of family.
